Responsible for booking your live performances including gigs, tours or radio performances as well as getting you to support a more established band in order to maximize your band's profile...in other words they develop the artist's career within the live music sphere. They work very close to both your management, the promoter and also the record company. They mostly work on a whole tour rather than just one gig and would often require exclusivity on your touring activity ...especially if you are signed. The agent negotiates and issues contracts, collects deposits & sends out your material to book you a gig. They may charge you for any related expenses that occurred in order to set up a gig. They normally get a 10 - 15% commission of the artist's fee. Some provide all styles of 'Covers Acts, Bands and Entertainers' ranging from Classical to Jazz and Comedy for all sorts of events including pubs, clubs, local, corporate & trade events while others provide entertainment for Cruise Ships, Theatres, Hotels & International Venues.
